No Chocolate, No Candy, No Fun: Homemade Valentines for Deprived Children
Since my son doesn’t know what he is missing, it isn’t difficult to sell him on the idea of making valentines, as that’s what we’ve always done for ideological reasons. In wondering whether homemade is cost-effective, I discovered that there is indeed a financial bonus: I didn’t search extensively, but the price of a box of 24 valentines seems to start around $9 (almost 40ยข per card) and go up from there, with $17 a box being the highest price I saw before my head exploded.
